TESTIMONIALS
'When my baby was found to have jaundice I was required to supplement with formula, this led to difficulty in breastfeeding as my baby started to prefer the bottle. With additional complications due to painful engorgement and mastitis, my baby and I were finding it terribly stressful to breastfeed and trying to get him to latch was proving very difficult.
I was extremely distraught and my husband contacted Shannon to seek her professional advice. Shannon was warm and friendly on the phone and visited us at our home as soon as she was able. Within the first visit, Shannon provided direction on positioning and attachment and from that day forward I was able to breastfeed my baby without the need for additional special equipment that I had purchased on other advice (such as nipple shields).
When I had any questions during the subsequent weeks, as I became more comfortable with breastfeeding, Shannon was available via email and phone (including following up with me in the weeks after her visits). This helped my confidence to continue breastfeeding and be sure that my baby was sufficiently fed and growing well. I have already thoroughly recommended Shannon’s services to my friends who are currently pregnant, as I have found breastfeeding can be a very daunting and emotional experience. Shannon was able to remove the stress and her support has enabled breastfeeding to become a calm and relaxed experience for me. Thank you!' - SHELE, mum to FINN, 7 days
'I would highly recommend getting Shannon’s help if you are struggling with breastfeeding - however big or small the issue. Sometimes it’s even just for a slight tweak that can make all the difference. Shannon was extremely responsive, professional and emphatic to my struggles (including bleeding nipples ouch!). Thanks to Shannon I did not give up breastfeeding and 6 months later I’m still going strong. After only one consultation (and in the comfort of my home) I felt a lot more confident and relaxed with feeding my son. Shannon also offered fantastic advice about swaddling and settling my baby and I can’t thank her enough for all her help and advice.' - NATALIE, mum to OSCAR, 10 days
'Shannon is a life saver. My son Henry and I had a constant struggle with feeding and we had seen quite a few Lactation Consultants, help from the MCHN and also midwives. It was Easter weekend and I can remember being very upset on Good Friday because bub wasn't attaching properly and was fussing at every feed. This had been going on for weeks on and off but was getting worse. The latest reason for his lack of great attachment was because he had just had his immunisations but there was something not quite right. I messaged Shannon a little intro and a plea for help....
She got back to me straight away and was prepared to come out Easter Sunday to help us. Within 30 minutes, bub was attaching better. Shannon also said something that I'd been wondering about as well which was his lip tie (only minor and also minor tongue tie too) but we've been doing really well since she came and helped us. He feeds regularly, he's gaining lots of weight now, no more fussiness and he's happy. I would definitely recommend Shannon to help my friends out if they ever needed a Lactation Consultant'. - STEPH, mum to HENRY, 6 weeks
